About Jurtahúsið
A tradition, moved to Garðatorg
Jurtahúsið was founded in 2019 by Salika Pitplern, a licensed massage therapist, and opened its doors at Garðatorg 7 over the new year of 2019–20.
Only licensed therapists work here, and all of them are Thai. That is not a detail but the core of the house: Thai massage is a craft learned in Thailand, and every treatment follows that tradition — whether dry massage on a mat, oil massage, or foot massage worked with a wooden stick.
The menu spans traditional Thai massage, couples massage and foot massage, together with oil massage, hot coconut oil massage, head-neck-shoulder work and deep tissue. Please note that we do not offer pregnancy massage.

What we hold to
Three promises from the house
Licensed, always
Every therapist in the house holds a licence. It is the minimum you deserve — and what the tradition deserves.
Your hour is yours
The treatment gets its full time and the visit ends with tea. No production line, no rush.
Pressure, agreed together
Firm or gentle — you say, the therapist listens, throughout the treatment.

The handwork
A house that makes its own things
The eye pillows and heat pads are sewn and filled in the house — rice, lavender and lemongrass — and the soaps are carved by hand, each one unique. The same care as the massage, in another form. You meet the house’s handwork on a visit — and a gift card is the loveliest way to send someone there.
